Common questions

How does VidProxy deliver transcripts?

VidProxy monitors YouTube channels via RSS and fetches transcripts as soon as a new video is detected. Transcripts are delivered to your webhook URL as JSON — no YouTube Data API key required.

What happens if a video has no transcript?

VidProxy retries for up to 24 hours while YouTube generates captions. After that window, the video is delivered with transcript_available: false. You can also disable the hold and receive all videos immediately.

Can I use VidProxy without a webhook?

Yes. The REST API lets you pull transcripts on demand using a video ID or URL. This is useful for one-off lookups, internal tooling, or building your own processing pipeline.

How quickly do you respond to messages?

We aim to respond within 24 hours on business days. For billing questions, plan changes, or urgent issues, responses are usually much faster. Every message goes directly to a human.

Do you offer custom plans or higher limits?

If you need more channels, higher API rate limits, or a custom integration, send us a message. We work with teams that have specific volume or data requirements and can discuss options directly.
